Abstract

The pathogenesis of senile frailty syndrome is not yet clear, and there is no recommended drug treatment. Therefore, finding effective medications and improving clinical efficacy are the issues causing main delays and difficulties in furthering our understanding and treatment of this condition. A
randomized double-blind placebo-controlled study will be conducted. A total of 60 eligible patients with senile frailty syndrome will be enrolled and randomly assigned to one of two groups: a control group and an experimental group. After 12 weeks of intervention and a 1-month follow-up period, the efficacy and safety of Jiawei Huan Shao Dan (JWHSD) in the patients will be observed and their degrees of weakness and cognitive function evaluated. If the present trial is successful, it will provide patients and doctors with a new, more effective method of alleviating senile frailty syndrome.
